Our Valentine's Day 2012

This year was the first time Wallace was around for Valentine's Day in 4 years. It was during the period he fell sick for quite long, and I had just fallen sick the day before too! I also had to study for a test which was the day after Valentine's. So basically, it wasn't very ideal for us to go out and celebrate with a fancy dinner and all. In the end, we decided a few days before that we were just gonna stay home, order Pepperoni's pizza, and rent a Blue-Ray. I even went to check Pepperoni's menu online and called them to ask if they took advaced orders! We agreed that morning that we'd call and order the pizza when he picked me up after work/school. He told me to study all that I needed to beforehand, because he wanted me to keep the night free so we could spend time together :)

So after school, the completely unsuspecting me, having runnny nose and feeling feverish and all, went downstairs where he was waiting to pick me up. As I was walking towards him, I saw him carrying a bouquet of roses! I broke into a smile immediately even though my body was feeling horrible, because he rarely ever buys me flowers! After that, I thought that was all, that we were still going home. But then he pulled out 2 tickets:

For WICKED!!!

I was completely surprised! He even brought change and heels from my house. I had mentioned to him a few months ago that I wanted to watch Wicked, but I didn't really do much about it because I knew he wouldn't have much interest in it. Never did I expect that Wallace booked the tickets 2 weeks in advance! I was genuinely surprised and happy and felt so loved :)

We went to shower and change at his workplace facilities and set off straight to Marina Bay from there. We didn't want to be late so I did my makeup in the car, as I usually do anyway.

When we got there, we didn't have time to eat at a fancy restaurant so we ate at the food court, where there was a violinist performing, and staff going around giving out roses!

Unfortunately because we had to climb up the many flights of stairs to our seats, by the time we got to the gate the first scene had started and we had to wait till the second scene to go in. :( Nonetheless, I really really enjoyed Wicked. I think the Australian cast was awesome! The theater was very full (especially cos it was Valentine's). We were sitting upstairs so I couldn't really see the faces of the actors very well. Would have loved to watch it again!

We bought the programme and the CD. Yeah suckers for merchandise but it was a special occasion! Anyway, I played the Wicked soundtrack over and over again in the car in the weeks after that, and the songs were constantly in my head every day! My favourite songs are Defying Gravity, Popular, For Good, and This Feeling. :)

I kept my bouquet after that, and set it on my table till it grew mould and my mum made me throw it away :( I'm a sentimental person, and like I said, Wallace rarely buys me flowers, so it was extra special. Anyway, I'm so thankful for the amount of planning, effort and money he spent on making this Valentine's Day so great. Love him :)
